A first look at your Mantel and your Feed

It all begins with an idea.

Welcome to the Mantel page! These features aren’t live yet, but we want to give you a preview of where we are headed and how we imagine this part of the product taking shape.

In the “Home” and “Moments” pages within the Alpha experience, Mantel will collect your photos, events, places, workouts, playlists, and notes in the background. What you see here is something different. Your Mantel and the Feed are more intentional spaces built on top of those moments, designed for reflection and for sharing real updates with the people you care about.

Your Mantel

Your Mantel is the place for the memories you want to return to more easily. These might be trips, milestones, seasons, or months that feel meaningful. Things like your honeymoon, a weekend away, a birthday, or a month you want to remember. Your Mantel is meant to feel calm, personal, and shaped by you, not a full dump of everything on your phone.

See the full picture of your memories, not just the photos

Your Mantel brings together more than images. Everything Mantel collects for you on the Moments page, like places, playlists, workouts, and notes, can be pulled in to help you remember what a moment actually felt like. We are designing this experience so that most of this context is gathered automatically. You will not need to organize folders or upload anything manually if you don’t want to. Your phone already captures so much of your daily life, and Mantel will use that information in a way that feels simple and straightforward.

Layouts that feel intentional

We want your Mantel to be beautiful. Not like a cheesy templates. Not like something that you have to manually take the time to edit and create. Mantel compositions are designed with editorial design principles and minimal layout structures, made to look like something that truly belongs on your own gallery wall. Initially, these compositions will just be displayed on your personal “mantel” within the app, but we imagine them extending beyond to digital frames, smart home displays, or high-quality prints you can hang on your walls and share with family. Isabella’s collaging style and Aekta’s minimal design style have both shaped this design.

A place to look back and reflect

Your Mantel is completely yours and completely private. It can be a simple place to see your patterns, what you were doing at a given time, or how a certain month felt. The goal is to give you a clear view of your own life without extra work.

The feed

The Feed is a new social experience we want to build inside Mantel. In general, people are stepping away from traditional social media as our feeds fill with noise and AI-generated content that doesn’t feel real. There’s a growing desire for smaller, more genuine spaces to connect with the people. The Feed is designed for that. It is a private way to share your life with the people you actually stay close to, including moments that feel too personal for regular social platforms, like kids’ faces or everyday updates.

A new kind of social space

The Feed is meant to be the opposite of current social media, where you have endless content and ads. It is for real moments shared with a small group of people you care about, similar to the kind of update you give when someone close to you asks how you have been or what you have been up to this month.

Share only what you choose

You pick which Mantels you want to share. Some months or moments can stay private on your personal Mantel. Others can be published to share with friends and family. The Feed reflects only what you choose to share and who you choose to share it with.

Or share anywhere with one tap

If you want to send a Mantel directly instead of posting to the Feed, you can share it through iMessage or any other app. Mantel will format it into a clean visual asset that makes it simple for someone else to read and understand.
